* The article in Hebrew was written at the time of the Jewish holiday Passover *
Egypt
"We think the Bible is something that records the past. It’s contemporary. We think that the Israelites were saved from Egypt by some miraculous act of God unnumbered years ago, thousands of years ago, and we don’t know it’s taking place now. We think the pharaohs died thousands of years ago and we don’t know that they are in our present; that any tyrant in this world who can enslave you, who can restrict you, he is a pharaoh, and he will not let my people go."
– From Neville Goddard's lecture "The holy one" 12/12/1963
When we think about Passover and what the meaning of the story in the bible – we might take it literally. The Isrelites were slaves in Egypt, and this is their story of their freedom. But what many don’t understand is that the bible that we know is not literal. On the contrary, the bible is decoded. It is not a historic book. It has a bunch of stories that tech us on the secrets of the universe. On the here and now. This is why it is so important to read these stories with an open mind and understanding that the stories are not what was taught us in school, and they are not what was taught us throughout our lifetime. The characters in these stories are actually the options of where our consciousness can go, where it can be today, and what we can do about it or learn from it.
"Egypt is here. Egypt is wherever you are where you are confined and you can’t escape. And the only exit from it is the name of God. If you don’t know the name of God and do not wisely apply the name of God, you’ll never get out of Egypt. And so Egypt is the world of restriction. And the Holy One’s only name is I AM."
– From Neville Goddard's lecture "The holy one" 12/12/1963
Egypt is the current state of our consciousness, a state that is very limited and that is shrinking us. Wherever our consciousness will be – this is the reality that we will live in. We can be in a state that is so amazing and abundance is flowing to us, or we can be in a suffocating situation that is not good to us (aka – Egypt). It can be in one area or a few areas simultaneously. The choice is ours if we will stay in Egypt or we leave it.
The state of consciousness can make us slaves to stuff we don’t really want in our life. And so, like the bible story, we need to get out of Egypt. How will we do it? By understanding of who we truly are, that we are God. And we can change the reality by our inner feeling, by the understanding that this world is a pure illusion and it is a mirror to what we feel inside of us. It is the mirror of our imagination.
We might get some resistance when we try to get out of Egypt – we can get a no, we can see in the mirror (our reality) that things are going the opposite way of what we want etc, just like Pharaoh was resisting to the request of Moses. But what did Moses do? Did he give up just because he got a no from Pharaoh? No. He continued, of course, with the ten plagues, until Pharaoh released them.
Egypt can also be a metaphor of the whole world, the matrix we are living in. The mirror around us. At the end, we are slaves – whether we are conscious to it or not. Slavery is giving our power to the government, to media, to everything that is outside of us. But how do we get out of the matrix? This is a very simple thing that we only complex. We are awakening. Awakening to the truth. Remind ourselves that everything can change. We are the power. We are putting awareness on the things that are good for us. We are letting the pain and fear just be there. We need to remember that they are not the leaders in our life. Because it doesn’t matter in which reality we live (good or bad), everything we want – is already possible. Already exists. And it wants to show up for us.
Moses and God
Not only Egypt is telling the story of our life. Also Moses has a part of our contemporary story. Moses is the character we decide to be. The mask. At first he doesn’t believe that he can be the one that can get the Israelites from Egypt. He was doubting himself and his capabilities – and let’s admit it – who wasn’t doubting their capabilities to change their state of consciousness? Who never met with that ever? We can do anything. But if we let the mask that cannot do a free reign over us, then so be it.
God, which is a symbol of our soul, is talking through the burning bush. Our soul is always talking to us, and a lot of times we cannot see it but the things we do are the result of listening to our soul (especially after a long time that we didn’t listen to it and we got to a dead end in a certain area in our life). God shows Moses that he, in fact, can do it and he can get his people out of Egypt – and this is exactly like when we are getting into a problem that is in disguise a good thing, because it is actually shows us our inner strength – who we truly are. Our soul will always talk to us in a way that is for our highest good, because it knows who we truly are. Because it wants us to remember that, especially in times it’s very hard for us.
Our own Exodus
Each one of us can take this biblical story and what it means and get it into our life. Not only in Passover, but anytime. Because there is not one moment that is good or bad. What is the most important is our will.
I decided on the first day of Passover that it is the perfect time to start my detox for Tiktok (but as I said before, it doesn’t matter when you start). I admit, I am addicted to Tiktok and everything that is related to short and funny videos that can distract my mind. Tiktok became an addiction, but not a good one – every single time that I am free, I am getting into Tiktok and being drawn to the videos. I can sit down for five minutes or and hour, two hours, without being able to stop. There are some good videos that enrich my mind, but most of the stuff that is in there is very toxic, with a bunch of messages that can disrupt the mind, full of limitations and patterns of the old world – of things I don’t believe in anymore.
Aside from Tiktok, I took the mission on myself of being aware of what I think throughout the day, pay attention and make sure that I don’t get into a hurricane of negative thoughts and I don’t entertain them. Of course, I will have negative thoughts here and there, and sometimes I won’t feel the best, but the point is to be in a daily awareness. Awareness of my thoughts, what do I concentrate on throughout the day, what am I focusing on, and the subtle switch in the mind. The thoughts themselves are not the ones that create our reality (at least not solely) but they can affect our mood, our motivation, our energy, our state of mind. If we hold into thoughts of something we don’t want in our life – we will bring the focus of our consciousness on it, we will start imagining certain situations and we will start feeling their being the truth, and in the end, we will see these things in the external mirror, in our reality.
I can say that it does help me, instead of focusing on what is on the outside, I focus on what is important, on what is happening inside of me. And so it might sound unimportant to some people, but the moment we are taking a step towards our own Exodus, things change. Things are felt totally different, and it is only the beginning.
"Instead of constantly talking about your problems, start visualizing the solution and give gratitude as if you already received it !"
So what are we focused on? Is it on the problem, or the solution? Is it on the negative or the positive? It is important that our awareness will be on the things that we want, because if we are going to keep entertaining negative thoughts of what is going to happen, entertaining thoughts of the future or the past – we will miss the fact that the only time we have is the here and now. And this moment is the moment that we can change ourselves and our reality. To see this world in different set of glasses, without patterns or limitation. Without what is right or wrong.
It can happen only if go within, not without. Only if we believe in our power, not a power that is outside of us. Only if we hold on to our inner truth and not the lies – not the lies of the people around us, not of the government, not of the country that we live in, not of videos of some kind. Solely our truth.
By the way, it is not only something we do in our mind, but it's also how we talk to other people and what we say specifically. What do we talk on daily with our friends and family? Is it on positive stuff that heighten our frequency? Is it on things that give us energy and inspiration throughout the day? Do we say lovely and supporting words? Because if you said no on most of these things, it is a sign to go within, for inner cleaning on what is blocking us, so we can shine our inner light. So we can see this light reflecting back in our reality.
Our Exodus will happen the moment we will choose to change from within, when we will see in our mind the place we really want to be in, and we will choose that this is the truth. Without messing with what is going on around us, without doubting ourselves and let other people’s truth determine our way.
