"[…] you know what the word luck means? Luck is a name given by those who have no faith to the works of faith, that’s what luck is. There is no such thing. It’s all the outpouring of these imaginal acts of men."
– From Neville Goddard's lecture of 3/4/1964
I don’t believe in luck.
Luck is believing in an outside source, that plays for us or against us. If something wonderful had happened to us that we really wanted – Great, we are lucky. And if something bad had happened or something that we didn’t want to happen, happened – We are just unlucky. Luck is arbitrary here. And what a shame, isn’t it? To be enslaved to an external power – one that sometimes is on our side, and sometimes not. And what a shame that we need to wait for the right moments that we will have luck to succeed. Maybe we also need to do everything to have luck in our life – prayers, asking God, hard work, effort…
We can already see it in the 3D reality – some people were raised in a wealthy family and they are succeeding and thriving in anything they do, some people became successful by just a few years (they for sure got lucky), some people have money and they can afford anything they like, some people already found the perfect relationship and they have an amazing family… And on the contrary there are the people that have been raised in poor families, have nothing in their bank no matter what they do or how much they work and they are stuck in a job they don’t like; And, of course, they don’t succeed in what they want to do or in what they are already doing, love doesn’t come to them easily although they try everything or they already have love in their life but something is still not right… they for sure don’t have luck, right?
But one second.
Who said that this is what will bring us luck? Who said that there is luck in this world in the first place? As I went deeply into the spiritual world and I understood how this world works and who I really am, I understood that there is no correlation of where we were born to luck. And there isn't a matter of luck because we are the ones that create our reality – consciously or not.
Our soul chose a certain path so it can evolve and expand – to get to an understanding that it’s a part of the whole, that it’s God. So yes, sometimes our starting point is not going to be like of another. So what? What does it mean? That we don’t have luck? for me it’s not even an option. We are actually starting from the point that the soul wants and needs.
The moment the belief is on us, on our higher self, the God that we are – why would we still believe in luck? It’s a contradiction. If we are God and we are creating our reality, we cannot believe that we have luck or not. Everything we see in our reality is a direct reflection of who we are from within. At any moment in time we can change our reality and make it as we desire to experience.
In addition to all of this, if everything is aligned, so why a bad thing will mean no luck? And a good thing will mean good luck?
״you can start with the man you are, with the woman you are, and change yourself completely by the use of Imagination. You have no one to whom you can turn for promotion? Alright, you don’t need him. No one can give you a raise? You don’t need him. No one who can dress you properly? You don’t need him. All you have to do is use your Imagination to dress yourself properly, and you give yourself promotion, and do all the things that you really want to do. Except do it first in Imagination and then you’ll do it externally."
– From Neville Goddard's lecture of 3/4/1964
We don’t need anyone outside of ourselves for things to change in our life, for having luck, for getting unstuck and move on. Real inner work, faith, imagination as a lifestyle and the understanding of who we really are will do the trick and change our circumstances – they are what will connect us to the truth and reflect us what we really want.
Everything starts and ends with us.
