Imagination as a lifestyle

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

Albert Einstein

Imagination and how to use it

Imagination is one of the greatest tools we have in this world. It's the essence of all. It's our godly power, it's us. If we are God, and God is everything, it means that our imagination is also that. With the imagination we created this world, we created the characters that we are.

"The secret of imagining is the secret of God. Anyone who finds it finds supreme power, supreme wisdom, supreme delight. Every one should aspire after this secret and try to unravel it, for whatever you find about your own wonderful human Imagination you are finding about God, for your Imagination and God are one and the same. There is no other God. You imagined yourself into this world, and you’ll imagine yourself out of it."

– Neville Goddard, lecture on “imagination”, 14.7.1969

Thoughts creates reality, but if I will make it more accurate – what we are imagining in our head is creating our external world with our feelings and what we are believing to be true at this moment. Whether we are aware of it or not, we imagine. The pictures in our imagination are little seeds that we plant in our spiritual soil, so one day we will see them in our external world. Hence, it is very important to pay attention to our thoughts and what we imagine, because later if we feel them to be true they will manifest, whether we want them or not.

Everything we wish for to be in our future needs to be felt in the here and now. And how can we feel something that still doesn’t exist in our external world? By the pictures we see. That’s why it is a strong tool, because it has the power to make us feel what we want in the here and now, without seeing it externally yet. The inner strength we have is endless, so we can manifest everything – the good and the bad. What we want and what we don’t want.

We use our imagination all the time – when we imagine a situation in our head that is about to happen or happened, when we think of a certain person, when we desire something or when we daydream. Every moment that we are in our head, our imagination is activated.

“The future must become the present in the imagination of the one who would wisely and consciously create circumstances. We must translate vision into Being, thinking of into thinking from. Imagination must center itself in some state and view the world from that state.”
― Neville Goddard, Awakened Imagination

We should get into a meditative state, to ease the process of manifesting things into our reality and make the Mind less in control, so we will be able to feel what we want as if it is here right now. We can do it right before we fall asleep, what Neville Goddard used to call “The State akin to sleep” (in short SATS), or in a meditation throughout the day. It doesn’t really matter. What’s important is seeing what we want to see in our head, feel as if the thing we desire is already here, and surrender to it. Live from the feeling you got, from the reality you actually want.

Of course it’s also important to remember that the process of imagining is individual. Some people that do it in a certain way that will not necessarily be your way. Just try things out and see what works for you and what feels the most fitting. In general, there is no one way that is right.

Imagination and the external world

Our brain doesn’t differentiate between imagination and “reality” (what we see in the external world). Because imagination is the one and only reality. The external world is only a mirror to what we see in our head. It is only a mirror to who we are being. All that we see around us is coming from imagination. The technology that we use daily, Science and Medicine – they came from imagination. It is the basis for everything. Moreover, Science and Medicine will always change, they will never stay the same. Why? Because imagination is the force that creates this earthly truth, the truth that sometimes we hold on to so strong.

Why there are miracles in the world? Why there are some exceptional occurrences? Not because they are actually miracles or exceptional occurrences, but because this is the way of the Divine, through imagination. Not through the limits and laws we created ourselves by Science. We can also see how much the Medicine we use today is changing – we accept more and more today the Holistic way of Medicine – the one that doesn’t limit itself too much, the one that listens to the voice of imagination, intuition and body instead of what is logical.

Imagination is limitless. Everything is possible, everything already exists. If we imagine something – it means it is, in fact, exists.

When we were kids, it was so much easier for us to connect to our imagination – we had no limits, we could see things that today we have less access to. When we grew up, the limits and laws of this world were accepted by us without a real choice, and so most of the times we treat imagination as nothing. As a fantasy. As something that is just not realistic, out of reach. The heart vs. the head.

Sometimes we will see things that they are the exact opposite of what we want and imagine. Sometimes we will hear the opposite stuff from people around us. It is important to note that things like this happen from a few reasons, but the most common ones are:

1. The “bad” stuff happens so we will see what we want to see. Most of the time we will experience something that is not necessarily nice or “good” from our perspective, just so we will make room for what we actually desire.

2. We still believe within that this is our truth. We still believe in our limiting beliefs that we got throughout our life, and that’s ok. Embrace the fear and this belief, and know that it doesn’t mean it is set in stone. Things can change in a moment, and the truth is not what we see in our earthly eyes, but what we see in our spiritual eyes.

Why is it easier for us to believe in bad things instead of good things? Why is it easier for us to believe that something will not happen instead of it happening? These are questions that we should ask ourselves, and see what we get within as an answer. It is important to work with every part of our being, give it love and compassion and understand that we are the ones that stop ourselves from getting what we want. Everything depends on us.

With persistence, practice and belief, we can do, be and get anything we want.
